At Solidus engineers have at their disposal the latest technology has to
offer when it comes to design and analysis tools. Below is listing of the key
technologies we employ to reduce your development time.
Software
Pro/Engineer: Using this industry leading solid modeler
we significantly reduce the time it takes to conceptualize, synthesize,
visualize, modify and document the products we design.
Solid/Works: Solidus also uses another leading solid
modeling design tool enabling us to meet a diversified customer base.
Cosmos/M: This leading FEA package allows our designers to
check design loads and stresses early in the design process reducing the
number of prototypes built and tested. With the Pro/Engineer interface we use
geometry already created
MatLab: This analysis tool allows us to model and simulate
the response of the control systems we design resulting in fewer hardware
iterations required.
MathCad: Most of our calculations are done using MathCad.
This allows many iterations and gives us a library to call on further
reducing analysis and design time.
Working Model 3D: This dynamics package allows us to
synthesize and analyze the mechanisms we design. While interfacing directly
with our Pro/Engineer and Solid/Works models, this "virtual
prototyping" lets us check the dynamics of our machines before we build
hardware, again saving time and money.
Image Alchemy: This image manipulation program allows us to
convert almost any image format into almost any other image format. We use
this to enhance the visualization in our design reviews.
QFD Capture: Using Quality Function Deployment (House of
Quality) to define key product requirements and the interdependence of key
product attributes can be cumbersome. Using QFD Capture this process is
significantly simplified allowing us to spend less time managing the process
and more time using it to reduce your companies development time.
Hardware
High End Graphic Workstations: We use the speed and
graphics power of state of the art computers to run our MCAE applications. All of our engineers have access to the
latest in PC technology to run some of the applications listed above as well
as any of their own applications and of course access the internet.
Hard Copy Output
300 dpi Large Format Inkjet: We use our Encad Novajet to
create large (up to E-size) color and black & white prints for
communicating and reviewing our designs.
1440 dpi Small Format Inkjet: Using this printer we can
create high quality, photo realistic A size prints of the models we render or
shade.
600 dpi Small Format Laser: This printer is our workhorse
outputting A-size and B-size prints for reviewing and checking fabrication
drawings.
Networking
All of the hardware at Solidus is integrated into a single LAN. Here is a
